No One's Home ( Horror Puzzle Game ) Prototype ideas - Unity3d

Thoughts:

For this blog post, I'm just going to write down my thoughts and ideas on how I'm going to create my next project, No One Home.


Theme:

Trapped inside a house, the player must solve a variety of puzzles in order to discover the secrets of the house.

Story:

You always hear noises in the abandoned home beside yours, you're going to get to the bottom of these noises?

You're a teenage kid trying to prove how brave you are by proving that this home is haunted.

Character controller:

Since it's in VR, only limited to grab and interact with hands. Movement limited to only VR headset movements, no jumps.

Prototype level layout

4 Floors: Main, Upstairs, Basement, Attic





Main:
- Has stairs leading upstairs and a door to the basement
- Living room puzzle will be the final puzzle to the attic
- Puzzle rooms will help answer puzzle living room

Upstairs:
- Puzzle rooms will be easier and serve more as a loot room
- Main bedroom puzzle will hold the final piece of the puzzle to the living room

Attic:
- One big puzzle that gives the key to the basement door

Basement:
- TBD
- Final path is a hallway, no looking back

Death:
- No deaths, no saves, only scares if mistakes are made.
